Messages uses og:title, or the page’s <title>, and og:image. It doesn’t show the description. With a title and no image, Messages shows a compact card with the title, domain, and the site’s icon. og:image adds the large picture.
apple-touch-icon and the favicon are the small site icon, not the picture in the bubble.
